Music to Move Your Feet

Why do we love music? I'll never fully understand the science behind it, let alone explain it, but for me it's about energy. Music is sound ... sound is vibration ... that vibration is energy. Perhaps it's why we're drawn to certain songs, certain sounds. Because we dig their vibe.
I'm confident in saying that most of us are music fans. I'm also confident that our tastes in music vary wildly. But I bet we can all agree that music is a delightful companion when traveling, whether you're solo or with others. Music carries us through life — we associate various songs with different life stages, different feelings, different locations, different people. It's woven into our memory of whatever we lived that day, that month, that year. We've curated soundtracks that help define our lives. Whoa, that's deep.
I have absolutely no musical abilities, and because I care about humanity, I only sing when I'm alone in my car (you're welcome). But I am a huge music fan, and am one those weirdos who gets goosebumps when I hear cleverly crafted lyrics, perfectly delivered notes, daring drum solos, or thrilling guitar riffs. It's a real thing — called "frisson" — and I experience it with visual stimuli as well. Anyway, alone in my car, I like to turn it up to ***borderline uncomfortable,*** where the sound starts to vibrate on my skin and the rhythm underneath becomes a second heartbeat. Yes, I like to hear music. But what I really love is to feel it. Go ahead, call me a frisson fiend.
And "feeling it" is what this playlist is all about: Connecting emotionally while we're out experiencing this beautiful world. So plug it in, turn it up, and get going.

Sure, there are at least a thousand other travel-related songs out there that are not on this playlist. I'll be adding to it, don't worry, but these are the ones that currently move me. I hope they do the same for you. Tell me your favorite travel-related songs in the comments below!
